After some deliberation, I will consider using this troupe of clowns for the most hazardous missions. Pretty funny little guys, would be cool to see more elaborate sprite sheets in this kind of style.

Thanks! Honestly I’m trying to figure out some more fun ideas in general for my characters. I think I’m going to do a faux video game kinda thing, but you never know! A full sprite sheet could be fun and not a bad idea long term!

Pretty cool, and yeah, interesting palette. Nice work. Did you do the "red" dithering around the edges of the outline by hand? If so, that's impressive, it looks very accurate to that kind of art. I like it.

One thing is the actual design, which you did a pretty decent job with... But what sells it is the palette and the screen tear. Pretty damn solid, good job. Love the highlights on the shoes, too, with the frayed edges like it's on fabric.

Well, the huge red spot caught my attention, then I read the note. I get the idea but it doesn't really convey it very well. I think it can work if it's kind of subtle, like a more anatomically correct dog but with some parts that are just wrong, the subtle nosebleed, maybe in-grown claws, screwed up teeth... Maybe some clearly superficial-looking and oblivious person looking very proud of their cute dog, while it is clearly in suffering.

But I suppose the massive red patch of blood (?) did make me actually click your picture and look, so something worked.

Pugs actually have very funny personalities. I know someone who's adopted a few over the years from shelters where they'd been discarded. Real shame many dog breeds are treated like a fashion accessory.
