Nice composition, funny little theme... I like the hand holding the cigar! Is his finger severed? Pretty cool.

vWito responds:

Yea! When i was originally designing Orca i just didn't feel like drawing his pinky finger so i just took it away. Ended up keeping that as a little detail on the character!

Pretty good, interesting use of colours and outlines... A bit hard on my old eyes though, haha.

This one is pretty good... Simple but striking, clean palette... That's easy enough to do, right? But the dynamic pose and stuff, everything looks like it's where it should be. Very fun. Great outline accent too.

JettBomber responds:

Thanks! I understand the feedback tho

Very cool. Great integration of historical designs with Sci-Fi, I love that kind of stuff. Very interesting take on both sources, appealing colour scheme, well-executed.

That is a freaky fish. Very nice use of colours, tones, and strokes to create a space. Looks really good!

Judging by the distance between their hands, the glass barrier is quite thick; I would assume they are not, in fact, going to kiss. Furthermore, the bait lure on the head of the fish indicates that it is an ambush predator, and so attempting such an act is likely a terrible idea.

Very well-composed... Great use of the palette to create striking imagery. Looks like pretty decent use of brushes too, to add a bit of grit in the right places. Very nicely done.

JonathanPT responds:

Thank you! I'm really happy with it. Hoping to try and do another Jesus painting before Easter. We will see.

Saw your Art Forum post. Pretty interesting colouring... Almost everything looks like glossy plastic, she'd contaminate both poles haha. The pearls in the ears and the hair look particularly good, though it's a bit odd how the jorts look textured like cloth while the hair looks like plastic. Pretty fun stuff though, I like it. You should definitely post more.

KaySketchUp responds:

Thank you, the jorts were a choice. I do have more work to do though coming up lol. I have quite the history with art as of the past few years and will post more. I run 2 accounts just one under this alias and the other is for a different type of crowd.

Very cool! I like this a lot. The expression combined with the gritty etching gives a very distinct feeling. Nice use of murky tones, too. Very fun image, nice job.

dogmuth-behedog responds:

Thank you. :D!

This one is also a bit interesting, especially the bottom one with the more defined arm shapes. The shape of the head is pretty good too. Not a bad place to start from, tweak and refine a couple shapes, start filling in details... It would work well as a sketch to continue drawing on top of. With digital art, you can usually just have heaps of layers, I know some people use several layers just for the sketches. One to throw down the basic shapes, one to start tuning and filling out the details like faces and hands, and one with some basic, intense shading to get an impression of what goes where and how it looks. That kind of layered, iterative process over something like this might help a bit with emulating the styles you were going for in the other ones. A lot of the human body is mostly just basic shapes like circles or diamonds with a few interconnecting lines, after all.

These ones are pretty cool in their own right, too. It's a neat concept, I think some reflections of background or foreground elements could help sell the illusion of it being glass, or some kind of light refraction. That kind of stuff is pretty hard to do, though, just some thoughts for next time.

I think this one does a better job of staying cohesive than your other works, and the softer tones are very appealing. There's a good effort put into the various materials, such as hair, metals, skin... The elaborate chest physique is also more structured, though I can't say if that's just because the source designs are that detailed or just read better in your head. The confidence people were talking about is more visible here than in your digital stuff.

There are certainly advantages to digital art, but a solid mastery of traditional mediums can give you a lot of advantages. A lot of people do composite pictures with some illustrations starting with hand-drawn sketches, which are then edited and coloured in, maybe that could be helpful for you? You could also do composites with your clay sculpts... Nothing wrong with a mixed media approach.

YOU try coming up with a name that isn't taken, on a website with about 20 billion users!
